Top-of-the-Line Energy Solutions to Meet Your Facility Needs

One of the major challenges building owners face with running their buildings is managing energy consumption. Synergy Building Solutions works with our customers on customizable energy solutions for HVAC and lighting, based on their specific needs.

Synergy Building Solutions works with end users to develop custom energy monitoring dashboards that are efficient and effective for real-time monitoring of energy consumption. Synergy Building Solutions customizes the interface for our customers to provide an intuitive, scalable user experience.

These features help building operators quickly identify and resolve internal environmental issues while improving efficiencies and reduce budgets through flexible schedule occupancy management.

Project Case Studies

East Jefferson High School

The central plant is made up of four-pipe hot water and chilled water systems that had been operated without controls. The chilled water system (all pumps, chillers, and cooling towers) was left running 24/7 throughout the year, regardless of building occupancy. The hot water system was left running continuously throughout much of the heating season. This project installed a remotely accessible control system with a graphical user interface to disable the central plant during unoccupied hours.

Gross Project Cost: $23,757

Energy Solutions Incentive: $23,757

Net Project Cost: $0

Estimated Energy Savings: 315,949 kWh/Year

Estimated Cost Savings: $23,254 Annually

100 percent of the project cost is covered.

Bonnabel High School

The central plant is made up of a two-pipe hot water and chilled water system that had been operated without controls. Being a two-pipe system, the plant can only run in one mode at a time (heating or cooling) and requires a 24-hour pause to switch from one mode to the other. The chilled water system (all pumps, chillers, and cooling towers) was left running 24/7 throughout much of the year, regardless of building occupancy. The hot water system is brought online only as necessary. This project installed a remotely accessible control system with a graphical user interface to disable the central plant during unoccupied hours. Additional controls were programed to automate mode swapping (from cooling to heating and vice versa) by controlling pumps, isolation valves, and monitoring water temps.

Gross Project Cost: $23,537

Energy Solutions Incentive: $23,537

Net Project Cost: $0

Estimated Energy Savings: 276,572 kWh/Year

Estimated Cost Savings: $20,356 Annually

100 percent of the project cost is covered.

Synergy Building Solutions also works with building owners to secure grant programs in order to help fund their projects. The above case study shows just two of six central plants that were completed in under two months for Jefferson Parish Schools, all paid for through energy efficiency grants. The program provided an immediate return on investment while allowing the end user to monitor critical pieces of equipment for their largest schools. This allowed them not only to save money on energy consumption but reduce the amount of service calls by being able to troubleshoot issues remotely.
